Having never been a raper or rapee (and I hope that is true about almost everyone here, if not all) I don't think we can really respond to this here. There was a infamous reddit thread from the perspective of rapers which was deleted, perhaps someone has an archive of it that might shed some light, I've never looked hard for it.

Rape is about sex, as one other poster put it.

I'm sure rape in some cases is also about the disconnect between the sympathetic and conscious minds. Sex is largely about letting the sympathetic (fight or flight) mind take over aka getting into the groove. This causes some people to panic, become violent, on both sides of the equation. Part of the reason people are attracted to bondage or violence is because those actions amplify the sympathetic nervous system which makes sex more enjoyable and even simply makes sex possible for some of them. People also stop thinking rationally at times in the sex process, making changes of mind not only more common but also harder to handle.

Rape is also a matter of entitlement in some cases.

Rape can also be nothing more than a criminally flawed and immature response to LMR and shit-tests.

Rape is subjective. Trying to generalize it in any way is doing it a disservice.

Rape is just a weak holdover from our evolutionary past when the connection between sex & reproduction had not been made. After that you either stuck around and provided for your offspring or rape-baby was left exposed on a rock to die.

Rape is a very complex subject.

Some are rapists who are frustrated that they cant get sex, so they get it any way they can.

Some rapists can only get off if there is violence involved.

Some rapists are just fucking whackjobs.

I had to rewrite this and change "men" to "rapists", fucking feminists making me think only men can rape.
