So I've just started reading into TRP and while I agree with most of it there are some things that don't really sit with me.

Anyways so in the summer I had a little thing with an ex girlfriend but it was the classic "she's just keeping me around for sex" type situation though I didn't know it back then. By the end of the summer I couldn't handle the emotional shit going on in my brain so I cut her out of my life.

She went off to university and all that jazz and I had no contact with her whatsoever.

Now everybody is back for xmas and I was talking to one of my female friends who is also a close friend of the ex and she mentioned that my ex wanted to talk to me and it would probably happen at this party that was going down (happened last night)

So I'm at the party just having a good time and the ex shows up in my peripheral but I just shrugged it off and surprisingly her presence didn't really affect me in any way. Later on I bumped into her and she started just small talk and I gave her some basic answers and then went on my merry way, as if she was just any other girl at the party that I wasn't interested in. But later she approached me and started talking and I just gave her a couple quick answers and told her to text me in the morning as I didn't want to talk to her but didn't want to be straight up rude.

She came up to me a couple times after that and was like "but why can't we talk noow?" So I just told her that I'm having a good time and that she should text me tomorrow.

The conversation went like this:

her: "Hey sorry about pestering you last night, I just want us to be on good terms, where if we see each other around we don't just ignore each other"

me: It's cool. And ok, I agree

her: Okay haha well glad we settled that then

me: Yep, I'll see you around

her: Sounds good, Merry christmas btw :)

me: Thanks, you too

her: Thanks

And that was it.

Personally I'm pretty happy with the way I dealt with it as before I would've most likely started explaining myself and how I don't want her in my life and blah blah but I do think this way is a lot better and puts me in a much better position.

What do you guys think? And how should I act if she comes up to me again at the next party?
