Need advice on first date location

Coffee is always the best first date. It's low-risk/low investment on her part (making her likely to say yes) as well as cheap & efficient for you. If you meet and she finds you uninteresting/you don't like her you simply leave after 20 min. If it goes well she will lose track of time and you can easily spend 3 hours chatting about life.

I would recommend you go to a coffee shop close to your home, and meeting in the evening as it's easier to bring a girl back to your place later in the day.

Also prepare an "excuse" to have her come to your house after having coffee as if you have sound logistics it will not be hard to bring her home with you and escalate. I'd recommend screening her for interests during the date, then using those interests to make it easier. (ie. She loves animals so you invite her to your place citing, "You've gotta come over and see my dog[/cat/fish/anything really]" or if she loves cooking you invite her to help master the recipe you've been working on.)

Coffee is the general first date if you're not drinking.

I would avoid dinner. She's 21 she wants to chat and feel you out, dinner could be too high pressure. Whatever you do, do not do a movie.

Dinner is fine, but I wouldn't go to an expensive (>$20/plate) place on the first date because the expensive places require more of a formal dress. Plus, being young, you two would probably be more comfortable in a more relaxed atmosphere.
