I'm 30, unmarried, no kids, no LTR ever in life (a few ONS, a couple FWB for weeks but never anything serious).

My mom the other day put the "Grandchildren" shame tactic on me [I haven't seen it anywhere]. "I've just come to accept that you or your brother are never going to give me grandchildren. I hope before I die I can see you with a nice woman to take care of you."

I reply, "raising children right is tough, plus they are a huge financial burden, not to mention if I get married I open myself to divorce and alimony. There are 7 billion people on this earth, I don't need to have children to continue to make the world go round. And "nice" women, like women who respected men from your generation today DO NOT EXIST."

Perhaps another time I will get into the messed up shit from my childhood that lead to my parents divorce and my mom never remarrying. But I feel like she is placing some guilt on my shoulders. She seems to have some ideal in her head of what will make me happy. I feel blessed to have dodged the children-marriage bullet thus far and /redpill is helping me to dodge the beta bullet.

I wish I could tell her to just STFU about the whole marriage-children thing. It makes me feel guilty, "Sorry mom I can't live up to some ideal of the perfect American family that does not exist except in bullshit movies."
