Have you considered that girls might only want to hook up with you and not date?

Seems like you have a limiting belief that all girls want a relationship or there is something "wrong" with hooking up. You need to let go of both of those and realize that sex without a relationship is a great thing you can both enjoy.

Personally, I would escalate first, have sex and then talk about it, but you could always bring it up beforehand if you were feeling uncomfortable, though that would indirectly communicate your mixed feelings on it, which might put her less at ease about doing it herself.

Maybe if you made it very clear that you didn't want a relationship with them you wouldn't feel bad about being sexual with them?
