Let's call him Steve. Steve has always been vehemently anti-marriage and for years we have both made fun of our mutual friend that immediately falls in love with every girl he meets. Now Steve is considering something far more extreme than even our friend would do. Steve and the girl have been very casual friends since high school...I wouldn't have considered them close by any means. Out of left field, they started dating a few months back, even though he lives in AZ and she lives in Seattle. I called him an idiot in my initial reaction and we haven't talked since. What did he expect me to say? "Go for it bro!"?

I'm at a loss for words here guys. He already knows everything I would say to him: "you barely know her", "you're just in a honeymoon phase right now", "why not live together first", etc. etc. So have I lost a good friend to the almighty vagina, or is there another way to reason with an otherwise very reasonable person?

P.S. - She is probably the prettiest girl he's ever dated, and I have a feeling this has something to do with it.
