Background: I found this subreddit a couple months ago while trying to find ways to deal with "oneitis" and afterwards browsed it on occasion when bored, and read a couple suggested books on self improvement and The Game by Neil Strauss. After coming back to college this fall (Junior year) I figured why not take a chance, I'd gone to parties in the past but never really "approached" in this sense. Went to a party on Saturday night and began talking with an attractive girl who seemed bored. Surprisingly enough she responded really well and after a while I asked for her number (first time in my life asking this of a girl I'd just met) and she happily obliged. Later in the night she made a point of coming to find me to say bye when she left. The next day I texted her and she responded immediately and enthusiastically lots of "haha" ":)" etc. but apparently was out of town for a day, I told her we'd definitely need to hang out when she's back and she said "I would love to :)" The following day (yesterday) she was apparently back but didn't contact me at all, I eventually texted her suggesting we get some food, no response until several hours later she said simply "sorry can't at a club meeting" to which I said "no problem, another time maybe" and she never responded to that + hasn't said a thing to me all day today.
So as someone who is very new (this was literally my first "approach" ever), where did I go wrong here? It seemed like she was quite attracted to me and then suddenly nothing.
Regardless of the outcome I must say I'm really glad I tried this it feels great and is a huge confidence boost, I went out again the night after meeting her and talked to two girls who both gave me their numbers as well.
