You did the right thing. If you would've gone thru with your plans she would've assumed that all guys just want sex and have issues. Be like you just want to be friends or something.

Ow, that bites man, I feel empathetic. But at least you ended up being honest. Imagine how bad you would have felt if you would have had sex with her and made her think it was going to lead to a relationship, only to abandon her down the road.

Don't. Shame will not bring you forward. You did something that collides with your inner system of morale, and the only right way to think about this is: Can you live with it? Do you think it was wrong, and then, why was it wrong? Critically think about it, and then put it into your pool of experience. Dont feel shame for something you did, when nobody was seriously hurt.

This is the point why you feel that way. Someone did this to you. But in all honesty, that's life. Something similar will probably happen to you again, and i can tell you that it does not feel as bad with every time something shitty happens to you.

She'll survive. And given this information, you did the right thing of cancelling your plans. Otherwise this would have ended far worse than that.

The only thing you did wrong was not to be honest and open to her from the start, but this is something that needs confidence and outcome independence. It will come with experience, so don't worry, you are at the start and make mistakes, and if you learn from them, you have nothing to worry about.

Kudos to you my man. Pat yourself on the back for being straightforward with her. She may be hurting now, but it is a lot better than what would have happened if you had misled her.
