Hi Seddit. Long time single guy here (21m), who had been on a very extended dry streak. Instead, I spent most of my time the past view years improving myself, both physically (began going to the gym & lifting) as well as professionally (graduated college, got a good science job right out of school).
I thought that all of this would make me a perfect dating candidate. However, after facing rejection again and again, I found I didn't improve probably the most important part: My Mentality. I was going into dating situations with a self-defeating, negative attitude, and let my insecurities and anxieties take over. However, I made an interesting change, when one of my friends told me to approach dating like I did job hunting.
Go into a (interview/date) with a head full of confidence. You know you are good enough for (them/her), and you have the track record to prove it. Many other (employers/women) would jump at the opportunity to (hire/date) a man with your qualifications. At the same time, during the (interview/date) don't just sit back. Make the (job/girl) prove that their worthy of your time and effort. You aren't desperate for a (job/date). There are dozens of other (places that will hire you/women that will date you). And if it goes south, and they don't (hire you/date you), then its their loss. They failed to see how great of an (employee/boyfriend) you could have been, and on to the next one who would appreciate your talents more.
Flipping the script like this has been very productive for me. I'm no longer scared or insecure, but from approach to close, I believe in myself.
