I need your advice. I am a 27 year old guy. I live in a small-sized university town in Germany. There are 30,000 students here, but not all Germans. There are international students too. I am Indian and I look unmistakably Indian. I lived in India for 25 years, but I am not a rapist. I am not what people would call narrow-minded (what other stereotypes exist for Indians?). I moved to Germany to study. I study in English but I learn German because I want to. But it's only to the extent of boring small talk. I can't talk my way around a woman in German. Not that I am particularly capable of doing that in English, either, but I am sure I would do a much better job in, say, the US - where women and people in general are known to be open minded and approachable. I do have a sense of humour when I'm relaxed.

I returned from a big student party in a club last night. I haven't been to many parties in my life. I can count them on my fingers. Girls were just not interested in me last night and I want to put a finger on why this happened. Some turn away as I walk to them, some walk away after a minute of being around me, some laugh at me, some refuse to dance. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that 0 girls are interested in me. At least last night. The last party I went to was fairly successful when I took a girl back home. And I really don't know what went right then and what went wrong last night.

Is it:

the negative connotations associated with Indian men?

the looks? Some guys clearly have girls all over them without actually saying or doing anything. I am not ugly, but I'm not a prize either. I am a fit, athletic guy. I am 172cm (5'8") tall and have minimum fat on me. I have a few good features - the forearms and butt.

Do I look desperate? Am I trying too hard? I smile, I don't grope, I don't stare, I touch like a normal guy when I speak to them. What are some other signs of a creep/desperation? I'd like to know and avoid them.

The physical appearance? It can't be the clothes, can't be the smell. I smelled good last night. I am not unclean (read my post on grooming)

Is it what I am saying? But it's so loud that people hardly talk. But I will admit, I say really boring shit. Small talk. And English is not their first language so I have to keep the sentences simple and easy for them to understand over the music. Is it the language? But I am sure if Tom Cruise - who, I assume doesn't speak a word of German - walked in, he wouldn't be avoided

Is it just down to the fact that I haven't been to enough parties to know that this is normal and that the strike rate is generally low?

I've done a lot of interesting shit in my life. I have had many experiences, seen things and places. I am a smart (only academically) motherfucker. I am studying what I love - sports. I cook like a boss. I used to race a bike professionally. I've done some shit. I know for sure that I'm not a boring guy. I do have enough going for me. But at a nightclub all that is out of the window, I suppose?

I just can't get my head around what this could be! I want to know what it is about me, that at 4am, when women of all shapes and sizes who are drunk out of their minds, still think they're out of my league. Am I supposed to follow them for a while and keep giving them attention?
