I had a friend of four years. He was my best friend. I messaged him every day talking about my life and other stuff. He gave me great advice and I relied on him for my own self improvement. He was a brother to me. In fact it was him who introduced me to r/seduction.

I lost him as a friend over a petty argument. Even after four years of solid friendship he refuses to be my friend anymore.

The loss was disastrous. I cannot describe the hurt in words, but four years of accumulated friendship all ending at once really did a number on me.

But something good happened out of this. It occurred in my dating life. When I would get really close to a woman and she would flake or it wouldn't work out, it didn't faze me. Having the realization that other people in your life will come and go, and to be self reliant, made me stronger as an individual. Now if a woman rejects me or breaks up with me it pales in comparison to the loss of my friend and I am not really bothered by it.

My point in all this is to learn self reliance. Someone can be in your life for years and then one day up and leave. By being your own man you are in charge of your own destiny, and you will succeed all the more because of this.
