Don't overthink it. It doesn't seem like you people were that close either. Just start talking to her. It's even better as you can tell her what you went through and she can tell you what she went through and build some sort of connection off that.

Again, don't overthink it and shut the fuck up and approach.

I would just go up to her with a smile and say "hey, I know we've been going to school for a while now, and I think it's funny that we've never actually had a conversation. Let me fix that, I'm xyz." and shake her hand in a playful way. Don't over think it though and don't memorize that. Just be confident and say hey, she probably has thought about you before too and has been waiting for you to say something.
