I've only been there one week, but I nonetheless put up 2 ads per day. All I've gotten so far are spam posts, and well 2 messages from live human beings, but one wanted money, the other will probably not reply because I didn't have the "right answer" for her (her message was fine until it got to "Do you have kids? What kind of work do you do?" both questions are red flags for any first message, in my book)

Now I haven't replied to any of the "women4men posts" (half of them I am not interested, the other half are so vague or generic, they appear to be spam posts).. in other places on the net, the advice is frequently said that men should NOT waste time replying to female ads because of the extremely high % of spam posts. So, I think what I've been doing so far--just writing my ads, but not replying--that much is correct.

But the results from that are "poor," so far. What kind of ad do I need to garner more responses from REAL (non-spam) women? Short of putting a picture up with my face in it--this is a small town, where I live--I'm game for anything. Well, almost anything. It has to be congruent to my actual personality: very shy and introverted, a little bit autistic (do not read into this any "mathematical genius" stereotype; instead read this as "awkward"), but offbeat and eccentric in a good way, with artistic leanings. I've even tried an "art teacher wanted" ad, where I made a joke about needing help to draw female anatomy.. no actual replies to it, yet.

Have any "average guys" had success with Craigslist? I guess that's the most important thing. If you're a great looking guy with a busy life and a good job, I don't want to hear from you. I want to know how an "average" or "sub-par" guy can improve his chances of hooking-up on Craigslist. Please no suggestions that I try Tinder instead.. I'm not putting my face out there for everyone to see, this is precisely why I like Craigslist.. it's possible to get replies to text-only ads, then pics are sent to one person when they write.

Any ideas? I'm determined to make this work, so let's have at it.
