First of all, there might be another post with a similar question, but I couldn't find it. Maybe i didn't search for the right keywords.

Anyhow, I'm interested in a friend of mine who has a boyfriend. I'm not interested in actively pursuing the friend. I'm willing to search for another person while waiting for this friend to become available.

My question is, how do I tell her that I'd love to go out with the friend once she's available AND I'm available, without being too desperate or awkward?
