Broke up with my ex of three years, beat depression and put my life back together. Been working out lately and the gym has alot of beautiful girls but this particular girl stood out to me. She works at the front desk.

After a little pep talk from a few sedditors a few days ago, i had set tuesday as the day to ask her but i pussied out.

Today she was working. for some reason god was smiling down upon me today. And i felt brave. I walkwd into the gym and realized i forgot my id. It so happens that the three or four times this has happened and another time i left my shoes there, she was working. She gave me this look "really? Did you fucking lose your id again?"

But i didnt. I needed a reason to talk to her later.

So i smoothly reassure her im a student and go about my workout. After i finished i walked up to the desk and the approach anxiety hit me.

I sat there for half an hour trying to fight it. I told myself fuck what people think ima at least hint to her that i am interested.

Finally i get up the courage and spoke to her about some random membership issue i had and i said:

"Hey you were here at the gym yesterday right?"

She paused and said" wait... yesterday.... yesterday what day was that?" And giggled, evidently embaressed. I took this opportunity to make tease her a little bit. And i said "Hey im monkeyinaspeedo, i always see you around but i never got to say hi."

I shake her hand and she tells me her name.

I said to her: "its nice to meet ya."

Before i could say anything else she cut in:" if i see you next time i will be sure to say hi!"

At this point ill admit, my mind blanked. i said:" yes definitely its nice to finally know who you are!" (Cringe). She smiles and i make for the door, then i realized i had my ie card 8n hand.

I stop midway and say: "oh hey, i found my id card."

She said "dont lose it again haha".

Then i dropped the line i was worried about

"Well if i do next time dont get annoyed again, _____, "

"But i wasnt..."she tried t9 say but i Cut in.

"Cuz you know your damn beautiful when you get angry." (Its true).

My ride was waiting so i left. I know this wasnt the ending you all hoped for but this has been my personal best in my entire life.

Oh and did i tell you guys? I left my shoes at the gym "accidentally"

Now i have a legit reason to approach her next time and start off with skmething like "i wouldnt have lost those shoes had i not been so absorbed by you" or something.

Next time, im gonna fucking get her number. This shit aint over until i tried my best.

Now tear my performance apart fellow sedditors.

Edit: best part is that, if it doesnt work out, i really couldnt care less. Im moving soon to another city 45 minutes away into a 4year college. There is going to be so much more i can do.
