God damn it. Not again. I've had awesome nights and shit nights. This was a shit night. More shit nights than awesome nights.

It helps if you can warm up in some way instead of sinking or swimming based on your early going.

For example, it helps if you have something to do that doubles as social integration. Like if you're in a club, don't stand around or keep approaching verbally. The place is built around dancing, a nonverbal activity. Go dance if you can't talk right away. Make eye contact, smile. Then you're still being social.
