Sorry for the clickbait title. It didn't go sexual.
ANYWAYS
Today, I went to a little town in California. I went up there with the express purpose of doing some photography, specifically some time-lapse work. I had a fairly sizeable chunk of time set aside to take some of the photos I would need in order to produce some content for my media outlets. While I was out at the pier, I was in the middle of waiting for one of my sequences to complete, and I saw this absolutely stunning blonde wearing a sort of sheer and see-through lime dress over her bathing suit. I find it ironic, as I was just about to tell my two friends how gorgeous I thought she was, and was wondering if they had noticed her as well. Unfortunately I wasn't able to really stray far away from my camera, as it was taking a photo every two seconds for about a twenty minute time frame. Didn't really think too much of it until I saw her walk back around when I had finished my next sequence. Honestly, being in California as opposed to the East Coast where I'm currently living, the differences in women is absolutely astounding. I have seen more gorgeous girls in my two weeks of being out here than I have in the past year and a half living out in the Carolinas.
That being said, I was feeling some approach anxiety. Ever since I've been out here, it's been more crippling than I've experienced before. Normally my strong suit is always being able to open a set, no matter how I feel or what the circumstances are. Lately that just hasn't been the case. With all of these insanely good looking girls around, I find it much more difficult to just make the hurdle and take action. All of this is going through my head just as I write it out here, and I know that I have to do something. She's just sitting there. Alone. Gazing off into the sea as if her husband had been Tom Hanks' character in fucking Castaway and she was anxiously awaiting his return. So I did what I should always do. I walked around so I was directly squared up with her, looked her in the eyes, smiled, and said "Hi."
Ah yes. I had almost forgotten the sweet and supple release of endorphins after you open her set. I was pleasantly surprised as she looked up, smiled, took her earphones out, and said "Hi" back, with a little bit of enthusiasm. Being a tourist, I asked her if she was a local, which she promptly responded by saying "Yes, well, uh, no. Sort of." She explained to me how she had just recently moved here from a different part of California, and we went into the normal "Who are you, where are you from, what do you do" kind of banter. I read theory so I obviously threw in some push pull in there, and basically just tried to operate under the presumption that I already knew her and that we were just old friends catching up. One of the biggest things that I was trying to focus on was allowing her some breathing room to talk. I'm an expert bullshitter. I can spout off a Nobel fuckin prize winning essay and talk about damn near anything with more emotion than a crowd at an Adele concert. That being said, one of my greatest strengths is also one of my greatest weaknesses, I talk WAY too much. I drown the sets with the sheer volume of words that I spit out. It's probably stemming from a sense of insecurity and discomfort with silence, and after identifying that as being a sticking point for me, I made sure to talk less and allow her to fill in the silence. And it worked. I feel that we reached that point where comfort was established and I wasn't trying so hard to maintain her attention much faster than if I were to be doing the dancing talking monkey that never shuts up method. We talked for maybe about thirty or fourty five minutes about various subjects, I did a lot of cold reading and it had some pretty positive effects in terms of eliciting emotional responses out of her. In not douchey technical terms, we had an awesome conversation and found out that we had a ton in common and a ton to talk about. I started to realize that I actually liked this girl quite a bit! What a great situation to be in, she's cute, and I like her! Wow, normally I only get one of two. Bully for me!
The sun was starting to set and I wanted to get a few more photographs so I walked over to the pier that was on the beach and asked her if she'd like to join me. She enthusiastically accompanied me over the pier where I took some photographs and told her to model for me, as we had previously spoken about how she thought she wasn't photogenic. At this point we've hugged and embraced each other and she had gotten comfortable with my touch. I didn't really want to push a kiss too fast because I know she had a rather strong conservative Christian background. After finishing up under the pier, we went back to the seating area where we previously at. I had to go at this point because I had schoolwork and other duties to attend to, I had already had her follow my Instagram and I told her I'd follow her as soon as I got to my phone which was in my truck about a half mile away. I asked her in a very sarcastic manner if she would grant me the grace of letting me put my number in her phone, which she replied with an equally sarcastic "Uggh, I guess. You're terrible but I guess I'll make this one exception." So I put my number in her phone and texted myself. She complimented my ability to distinguish between "Their, there and they're", so I made sure to fuck up all of the grammar that proceeded. We talked for another five minutes or so and then parted ways.
Seemed like everything was going well. We even had a date idea planned out in advance, we were gonna grab coffee and I was going to teach her the fundamentals of photography. I check my phone maybe ten minutes after we part ways, to make sure I didn't forget to follow her on Instagram, and it turns out she unfollowed me and blocked me on insta, and has yet to reply to me over text message.
I haven't had a stroke or any kind of brain trauma, and I've gone through enough sets both day and night to identify which sets are the flakey ones. This one was simply not a flakey set. I still don't know what happened. It was the best daygame set I've had in a pretty long time. Thoughts my friends?
