I don't think I have ever cold approached a girl ever. I have ended up in conversation with women at bars etc. but not after a straight up approach. The approach anxiety always seems overwhelming.

Today, I'm in Florida for work. I went to a local bar (did not drink) to watch the Colts game. And low and behold is a beautiful girl across the bar with none other than a Colts t shirt on. All by herself.

I am in a better position to see the colts game than she was, but no seats available next to her or me. The obnoxious group of rednecks next to me appeared to be paying their tabs. Actually, they all did pay their tabs. I figured when they bounced, I would invite her over to my side of the bar for a better view and some colts comradery.

I go to smoke a cig, hoping the rednecks are gone when I come back. Nope, ordering off the menu (again). Fuck.

So, I go over. Say something like, "looks like you are in need of a fellow colts fan." She looks a little surprised, and asked if I was a colts fan. More small talk then she mentions her SO is on the way, but I could hang out if I wanted. She then says her SO is a Patriots fan, which gave me an easy out. Said "I don't think I can sit with a patriots fan." She laughed, and good bye.

Moral of the story: all of the anxiety I feel before an approach was unnecessary (at least in this instance). The girl was nice, offered to let me stay. The whole bar was not looking OR laughing at me as I walked back to my chair. The rejection was easy to swallow as she has a boyfriend on the way here.

I'm still here, no one has killed me, laughed at me or made me feel uncomfortable. Maybe the boyfriend won't show ;)

Until next time my friends.

Edit: just got a number close while, smoking another cig. Two down in one day. Feeling decent👍🏼
