Ok, so I was a part of the community a few years back. Things were starting to pick up for me. Then I started dating someone.

So now I have been out of the dating scene for about 5 years (2 back to back girlfriends).

Today I got my haircut. The girl was super cute, and we had a good rapport going. She asked how long I was in town, and what I was doing for the rest of my time here (I am traveling at the moment, and currently in my hometown). This seems like a pretty open invitation to get a number, make plans, whatever. If it wasn't a direct invitation, the door was wide open.

I didn't get a number, make plans, OR whatever. I just continued the small talk. I currently don't drink. In the past, drinking made these moments seem somewhat more natural (in a bar scene, not while getting a haircut lol). Or I just didn't care as much about the outcome.

Regardless, I am decent at building rapport. I have never "approach" opened a girl. But when the dialogue is forced (haircut, server, airplane, etc), rapport typically comes pretty easy.

I guess I am wondering how to get the close (number, plans, etc) with a natural transition. I feel like I overthink it, decide my words would seem weird, and then just move forward with the small talk.

Any advice would be appreciated!
