1. Abundance mentality

The biggest improvement you can make in cold approaching is realising there will always be more opportunities in the future. There will always be more women to meet, and there will always be some who will be interested.

2. Making your intentions clear

The best way to counter flaking is to let her know exactly why you are asking for her number. Instead of saying "let me get your number and maybe we can grab coffee sometime," say "I want to take you on a date. How does Wednesday sound? Good, that works. Alright, let me get your number."

3. Control how you react

You cannot avoid the emotional highs and lows. You cannot control how you feel. You can only control how you react. So next time a girl doesn't text you back, instead of focusing on how you feel, focus on what you're going to do next.

4. Integrate cold approach

The way you balance cold approaching with your life is not to set aside time for cold approaching, but rather to just live your life regularly and cold approach if the opportunity arises.

I do this by doing everyday things like getting coffee, grocery shopping, jogging in the park, reading in a bookstore. Then I meet women at these places if the opportunity arises. If the opportunity doesn't arise, I haven't lost anything because I did what I originally intended to do.

5. Accept that what you're doing is uncommon

The vast majority of men would never try to do a cold approach. As a result, it's just not that common to happen. Recognise what you're doing is uncommon, and accept that for what it is. There's no good or bad attached to it. It's only good or bad if you attach that value to it.

Also, refer back to point 3 about dealing with feeling like a loser. You can't control how you feel. You can only control how you react to it. Choose to not be discouraged by your feelings.

I stopped trying to make girls like me and just focused on being awesome.

What are the most common mistakes guys make that lead to flaking?

They ask for her number before there is an emotional connection.

How do you deal with the emotional highs and lows of going out and approaching constantly?

I don't approach constantly. I live a fun life and if I see a girl I want to talk to, I talk to her. Of course if you make PUA your whole life every rejection will be like a punch to the gut, because you've invested so much of yourself in that. Also, I am awesome so I know it doesn't matter if girls reject me.

How do you balance your desire to go out and cold approach over your desire to actually have a life and enjoy your hobbies. This shit is really addictive and I'd pretty much always prefer to be out talking to a cute girl over sparring with my (all male) training partners at my kickboxing gym or going to a Perl meetup.

Women ruin a lot of men's lives because they give up on their true passions (sports, hobbies, friends, etc...) and focus on just getting laid. Don't be like that. You need to manage your time and not let PUA take over.

How did you learn to 'own' the fact that you go out in public to hit on girls. I still sometimes feel creepy or like I'm doing something wrong for acting on my attraction to a woman.

Go out and don't be creepy. Realize that girls want to fuck guys and they WANT to have a fun emotional experience. If she's not having fun, move on.

I'd feel like a fucking loser if one of my coworkers (or a girl I previously approached) saw me doing an approach.

Who cares what they think?
