Want to know a secret? 98% of guys think exactly the same as you. The hottest girls are usually not approached as regularly as the medium good looking ones. It's lonely at the top they say.

If you decided to approach the hottest girl in the place. These things will take place:

To her you immediately stand above 90% of the guys at that place, maybe of that night.
Even if you bomb, being seen talking to her will immediately give you social validation. Guys are jealous of you and girls are now curious.
Some 10s are cool as hell because sometimes they are late bloomers, the ones that grew up unnoticed or ugly and only recently become hot. They have the best personality.

But you wont find out any of these things will you? Because you are sitting there staring at her like every other guy in the room.

I treat them like every other girl, or guy for that matter. The moment you get nervous or get into PUA mode, a very attractive girl will shut you out because she's seen that before a million times. Treat them like a person and don't swoon just because she's got a great ass and blonde hair.

Some of the most attractive women aren't being approached as much as you think they are. That's because every guy is feeling the same fear and nervousness as you, and the vast majority of them won't take action.

I once dated a very attractive athletic girl who told me that she had never been approached the way I approached her before (ie. direct). Sure, she's always had guys orbiting around her. They trying to befriend her with the hopes of dating her, and being very pussyfoot about it. But never just straight up telling her to take her out on a date.

And this is a reality for most attractive women: tons of orbiting guys, and guys beating around the bush when hitting on them, but very rarely a stand up guy that just asks for what he wants.
