How to survive a first date?

Hey mate,

Usually, I'll ask the girl if she wants to grab a feed sometime. If she's all down with that I'll organise to meet for a drink or two at a nice, casual bar. Especially good if there's somebody playing acoustic music (usually Sunday arvo kind of thing).

After a drink or two, walk somewhere to go eat, changing locations is always good as well. Something easy, like sushi train is my go to.

Then I ask if they want to go and get ice cream, which I'm yet to come across a girl who has said no to that haha and we'll stroll down to the river where we can sit on the grass or bench and I can chat with her, see if there's a connection. Any serene environment will do.

I find that it's good because even though alcohol isn't encouraged by seddit, it helps relax both myself and the girl, dinner is chilled and then the walk is nice and relaxing. The date gives you a really good chance to see if you're compatible or if it's best not to continue seeing each other 😊

Stop right there. Don't ever do this for a first date. Remove that option from your mind. It's terrible.

Do something that you might both enjoy that is both interactive and mobile.

Things like:

hiking
bowling
coffee and a walk through a park
making food for a picnic
exploring cool locations nearby

These dates allow you to actually interact, get to know each other, and kino. It means that you'll be having fun together creating your own entertainment.

You don't 'survive' a first date, stop seeing it like that. The purpose of a date is to see if you like each other. Don't pressure yourself or see the date as a way for her to 'approve' you or whatnot. Go on a date with the intention of enjoying yourself and go in with a genuine curiousity in the other person's life. Don't overthink it too much.

I know it's easier said than done and we can give all the advice you want but the truth is that the only way to truly develop this is going on several dates. Experience things, whatever the outcome is, whether it's failure or success; learn from it. Grow as a person and try again. From what I can read you're doing great already! Whatever will happen will make you grow as a person. Whether you go on the date and it goes well, or bad, or whether she turns down the offer to join you on a date. Whatever it is you're going to experience something new and that will make you grow as a result. Enjoy and have a great day man!
