I always had a really hard time with this. Don't do what I did. Ignoring her will only lead to more pain for both of you. Plus it makes you and asshole, and it's not fair to her.

Just pull her aside sometime convenient and tell her she's too good a person not to be honest to. But "insert reasons for incompatibility" wouldn't make us good for each other in a relationship. I honestly would rather be your friend. I'm really sorry.
