Some quick tips:

Try and find something you can put your mind to that's not work/school related. Find something you enjoy doing, it can be one thing or it can be many things (i.e. cooking, hiking, cycling, martial arts, improv, co-ed sport to name a few examples). Make sure it's a social activity and make it your primary focus to enjoy the activity first. The social aspect will be secondary, but it will get you out there. Or if they're more solitary hobbies, find a way to make it interesting to talk about (i.e. with cooking, you can show it off on youtube/instagram).
Get in shape. Your school should have a gym. Start lifting weights and cleaning up your diet, as your body gets more in shape you'll start to feel more confident.
Learn how to style yourself. Change up your haircut and treat yourself to some decent clothes. /r/malehairadvice and /r/malefashionadvice are excellent places to get help.
Find some good self-help books to start reading. A very good one is Models by Mark Manson, it's the only dating advice book I've ever read and it's considered to be one of the best books out there.
Remember, you're improving yourself for you. You're the only person in the world you have a thing to prove to.
Get professional help if you need to, if your school has free counselling services take advantage of that. There's no shame in getting help if you need it, depression/anxiety is tough. Try to stay away from getting medication, focus more on the cognitive aspect.

As for girls, if you want to get better with them then the only way you can do that is to put yourself out there. You need to learn how to deal with rejection. You've already felt rejection, and you know that it's not the end of the world. Everybody gets rejected. You've bounced back from it before, you can bounce back from it again. What you need to do here is learn how to bounce back from it quicker.
