This might sound a bit odd and conceited, but here we go.

I’m 21, broke up with my girlfriend last week. I’ve always been the overthinking, second-guessing myself type, so I struggle with the majority of the anxieties (cold approach, escalation, etc.) I’ve done fine for myself, I’m fairly good-looking, but I struggle with saying the right things. It feels like I’m relying solely on looks and not the social skills. Kinda like it’s “forced”, there’ll be mutual interest but like I said, I struggle with flirting and escalation. My brain naturally always goes to the place of casual conversation instead, especially when I’m nervous. Any tips/advice/anything I could read to improve?

I realize practice is the main thing, but I need to have a sense of what I’m practicing before doing cold approaches, or else it’ll just be casual, friendly conversation.
