Something I learned early on from a friend with Cystic Fibrosis. Although by no means in anyway the same situation but both are very important to be known by a potential partner. Be honest with everything no matter your situation. Be honest about who you are, what you're looking for in life and dating. You don't need to be direct just honest and early. Doesn't matter if you're just interested in hookups to having cancer. They deserve to know where your priorities lay.
