What I wished someone had told me when I was in high school:

It's not you against the girls, you don't have to earn them, they actually are interested in meeting nice men/boys.
The only obstacle is peer pressure because they're afraid other teenagers will mock them if they look interested in you. Unless you're the guy everyone is swooning at, don't be too direct when they're among "friends".
If you like a girl, try something and do it quick. Summer is short. Ignore peer pressure. Know that even if she rejects you she's still gonna be happy you tried your luck.
Don't be afraid that she might not be ready for whatever you'd like to do. Be gentle but try. But if she says no, it means no. Offer her the opportunity to go further, but don't force it and don't be manipulative.

My two (or 50) Cents:

If there are many girls, hang out with the boys. Human beings are extremly good in copying behavior. This means if there are ten girls and three boys and you are there hanging out with girls a lot you start to copy their behavior. This makes you the least attractive one because you turn in to one of them.
Never be concrete if you are in the group and until you came close to a girl. Always talk in a way in which it could mean you are interested in her but also something completely different. Being vague also gives you a escape plan if things go wrong ;)
Don't compliment girls. Never. If you do, be extremely specific. Something that always works for me is "I like how the parfume you are wearing smells on you."
Be fun and have fun. This is the probably most important thing. Let me tell you one thing i learned after all these years and all these girls. People don't like you for who you are and what you do but for the feelings they have while being around you. So always try to make the people around you feel good about THEM SELF and you can have (almost) any girl/boy.
