I had a random thought today that I think relates to TRP.
I was hanging out with my dog, and called her a good dog. She is affectionate, defensive, obedient, she will fetch or catch anything, and she picks up on things fast.
And I thought, "what makes a good man? Beyond that, what makes a great man?"
There is certainly a distinction.
A good man does his job, he supports his family, he showers his wife with love and affection. A good man votes at elections, participates in his community, and follows the law. If you do all of these things, you will earn the privilege of being called a good man at your funeral.
But what makes a great man? A great man goes above and beyond the "good man" requirements, and might even ignore them. A great man does some thing better than anyone else. Maybe they build a massive business, maybe they rise the ranks in politics or the military. A great man might change the world, create a new invention or discover a scientific truth.
Sometimes, a man who we call "great" may not be what we would call a "good man".
What is TRP's thoughts?
