So just finished hanging out with a new work friend and it was fun! Got to his place, smoked a little and then headed to a bar to watch a few football games. My first mistake was going dressed in super casual (basketball shorts and an old running shirt). Confidence wasn't an all time high but I was happy to be spending time with a new friend (just moved to a new city a month and a half ago).

When we were walking to a bar a girl asked if I wanted to do hear more about the petition. My friend didn't really want to but I wanted to hear more. So she gave a great presentation and I was impressed and commented on it. I expressed interest in what she did as I was a political science major. Although I kinda was paying more attention to the ipad screen she handed me, I asked her for her number. She said "why not?" I ended up texting her 15 min later or so saying she should stay in [my city] so we could do something (we talked about her possibly moving).

So we went to the bar and chatted up the bar tender. She was cute, maybe a [7.5] . I engaged and we joked around, so I asked her for her number since I thought things were going well and I was kinda riding the high of asking for numbers. She said she had a boyfriend, but I still learned something from talking with her.

What I learned: Don't be high Be ready to go out, no matter what. Look presentable, you don't know who you're going to meet Always be engaged in conversation

Questions: What are some good thing to text someone right after you get their number? What are some of your number-requesting lines? I tried to make mine personal to the situation, but I'm open to anything
