I would bet it's excuse making as a consequence of anxiety. Going to the gym is a low risk investment as far as putting your ego on the line, and staying in is even better/worse. As a recovering hardcase it's never going to feel like the right time. You just hate the idea but walk out the door anyway. That's all there is to it. You can't wait for motivation to overtake you so that you're excited to get out. That almost never happens at first. Just do it until it becomes habit.

Been going to the gym 6 days a week for 2 years now and I have been noticing the same thing lately. I’d rather stay home and have a good nights sleep for tomorrow’s workout rather than having a shit workout from drinking the night before.

I have never had luck picking up girls at bars anyway since I’m somewhat quiet, so i don’t think I’m missing out on much. I’m much better at talking to girls during the day.

Yes. Don't go to the gym so much, and actually meet women. Why is this so fucking hard to understand? Do you think women will automatically end up in your house? You have to somehow meet them.

Meet women doing hobbies and doing what you love, find women who are similar to yourself

Maybe try online dating or other things other than just the cliched, standard "go to the bars/clubs"
