I recently regained the ability to go out regularly, so last night was the first night out after a few months of extremely sporadic appearances on the scene. I am hoping life will allow me to go out 3-4 nights on the reg from here on out.

Hit up a meetup with a friend who is a natural. It was a tech meetup in Santa Monica. I had professional goals here, and also just wanted to use it as a warmup venue. Talked to some peeps there, all good. Buddy was drunk by 9pm and thought he lost his phone at one point, but it turned out he had left it with the receptionist of the hotel to charge, so...that worked out.

Anyways, we roll to Bungalow at around 21:30. Bungalow is Bungalow is Bungalow.

I didn't feel much momentum from the meetup--if anything, I was starting to feel kind of taxed, since I wasn't used to socializing. Did an approach shortly after entering, two set. They were non-plussed, but I am glad I kind of stood my ground and didn't let them affect my mood. After that however, I had some AA.

Buddy basically went MIA and got too drunk and had a really long phone conversation in the middle of Bungalow. I did some half-assed approaches, then approached a two set near the DJ. One had back turned and was engaged in a kind of futile interlocution with the DJ to get him to deviate from his playlist, so I approached the stand-by one, basically. Cute French chick. Her friend turns out to be a (coolish) old German lady who the French girl initially said was her friend (turns out later the German lady is her AirBnB host). I chat with them for a while, and then I don't know, I just tell them it was nice meeting them and eject.

Long story short, buddy is incapacitated. Long story short, I amble around a bit in a kind of AAish skein that is familiar to those starting out in this endeavor (There was at least one other set I can't quite place in the time-line, Brazilians whose English wasn't the best, but who communicated quite strongly their extremely negative feelings w/r/t Michel Temer and Dilma Roussef).

I meet B in the venue, a guy who plys game, and who /u/kennotheking and I know just from going out. <sup>1</sup> He says he'll wing me a bit, so I do a couple more approaches (peer pressure/not wanting to look like a bitch comprises a better and healthier approach training wheels than booze if you ask me). Then I mention maybe I should have asked the French girl for number since she's on vacation and might have free time while he friends at work, etc, so B is like "well, let's just go talk to them and I'll talk the old lady while you get the French girl's number". So basically we do that and I FB messenger close the French girl.

I don't know if anything will come of it, nor do I expect it to, but I am grateful for the small unexpected win on night 0, and for B's help, and feelings of progress and positive vibes with one's associates are more important in the long run than specific girls/sets, so overall it went good, I'd say.

In terms of takeaways for game--well, I am just focusing for the next month on making approaches fairly automatic. I was definitely a bit of a bitch at a couple points in the night. I also need to revert back to the best opener I have ever used, which is "hey what are your guys's names". It keeps it casual and isn't try-hard, and conveys a small amount of social dominance (if said in the right tone obviously).

  1. We met him literally just by virtue of his being at Bungalow on Thursdays every week (we tend to see him all over, actually). He often talks up his seduction accomplishments to us and it has been a point of discussion between us as to whether he is actually good or just full of shit (the guy doesn't seem particularly charismatic and in fact seems to spend most of his time talking to some chode ass older dudes everywhere we go). I have tended to generally lean more towards the "full of shit" assessment on account of the aforementioned reasons. This night, however, he would provide some evidence that he actually might be good, plus he just does me a solid and so my opinion of him improves generally.
