It depends on where it's coming from, basically intent.

If you're saying it just to say it, cause you think it'll "attract" her to you, don't. If she's wearing something actually cute, go ahead and comment on it if that's what your unfiltered self would say.

Personally, I tend to stick away from commenting on physical beauty, she hears it all the time from various chodes on the street or in her instagram comments. She should subconsciously know that if you're still talking to her, you probably already find her attractive, you should assume the same as well.

I always tell her she's cute, but I make it more than just "you're cute". I look 100% serious and say "holy cow you're cute" giving it a sexual vibe, said with intent and with a lower voice.
