Ok so a couple months ago I went on my 4th date with this girl I was talking to for a couple months.
During that 4th date, we just sat down at a pizza restaurant and just talked and talked. Having deep conversations.
One topic that came up was tattoos and piercings. A little bit about me: I personally DON’T like tattoos. I find them very unattractive. I’ve always been turned off by things that make permanent changes to the body, such as plastic surgery and tattoos. Outdated view I know, but that’s just my preference so please don’t take offense at this.
So yeah we talked about tattoos. She didn’t have any at all. But she told me that she wanted to get a tattoo one day, something not too big. I replied with “personally, I don’t like tattoos and I would never get one”. Or something like that.
She then asked me “would you think less of me I were to get one? Be honest”?
This was my first dating experience and my first time I was ever asked something like that. Now I personally prefer to be an honest person, so I couldn’t really think of a way to like or dodge the question, not that I wanted to.
So I just replied with “honestly, I think I would. I don’t like them at all and I don’t think they look good at all”.
She didn’t seem to get upset or anything. We changed topics. To my surprise, I didn’t ruin things haha. Things didn’t work out between me and her. Not because of that! Of course not. In fact that night we both went to our homes, she texted me, and confessed how much she’s grown to like me since we started going out. Things didn’t work out for another reason later down the road. Doesn’t matter.
But did I handle things well or what should I do for future reference? What should respond to when someone asks me “would you think less of me I were to “x”? Like smoke weed? Get a tattoo? Etc.
