For context, I am a nerd. College doesn't really provide a massive amount of prospects that fit the bill due to the fact that I live in the south of the US and that nerd culture is small here.

This has meant that I have burnt out any opportunities with fellow students. I got the "I have a boyfriend" excuse a few times. When bringing that information through normal conversation, it was easily seen to not be an excuse. There was one person who avoided me like the plague and didn't want to hang out at all.

Online apps are just distractions that lead to nothing but cam girls hitting me up (which there seems to be a completely unwanted/possibly unwarranted surplus of them around where I am).

I feel like at this point, conventions are the only way for me to approach women and perhaps do something.

I am of an average, I am told by some female friends that I am somewhat good looking. Any advice or input?
