I am 19 in college (community college), and I just absolutely suck at attracting girls. I have quite a few friends and I am not just some lonely sap. I don't have the best social skills, but they have been improving along with my self-esteem and confidence.

However, I think I understand where my problem. I just don't talk to a girl I find attractive. Whether she is in class, at the library, in the cafe, I just don't make the attempt to do it. I know, "you never know." Even when I am in the moment I say that to myself, I just can't assume what she is gonna think of me. However, deep down I do assume that she isn't interested. It's definitely not because I think I'm ugly or whatever. I always create an excuse why she won't be interested that aren't on me. If she is in class, I am usually like "oh she is too busy with getting to class, bothering her won't be good." If she is in the library, I'm like "she came here to get work done, not some stranger trying to talk to her."

I don't think I am the worst looking guy, not the best but far from the worst, merely average. Once I start talking to new people, I am usually comfortabe with the social situation. It's just, how do I get rid of the notion that she won't be interested by me approaching her?
