Before I was 22 I had never asked anyone out. I just didn't have the self-confidence nor the balls to do it.
This week I asked out two girls. First one was after a group interview for a part time job. After the interview this girl who also interviewed, who I thought was stunning, was walking the same way as me but a little in front of me. I just kinda forced myself to do it, the idea was to keep it casual and see what happens. So I start walking faster to catch up with her, see that she's talking on her phone so I match my speed to come up beside her once she's done talking on the phone. Since we had the interview together opening was easy, I just opened with questions about how it went for her. I segued into more personal stuff (school, stuff, etc), told her I was getting this extra job so I can move out. As we reached the point where we would part I simply asked her if she wanted to get a coffee, she didn't, no big deal. "Bye, have a good day!"
This was my first ever time asking someone out. I realized something; thinking about asking a girl out was SCARIER than actually asking a girl out.
The second girl was actually today, omw to work, there were a couple of people from Greenpeace trying to recruit donaters. She caught my attention and started talking about Greenpeace. I kept it VERY CASUAL. She was trying to get me to donate, I was just trying to have fun. I told her to take a look at my backpack and how worn down it was (it's been through a lot of international travels) - how could I possible have money to donate? She asked me if I have a job, I said I don't, she asked me what I do, I said I study, she asked me how it was, etc. Now, since the beginning the eye contact was strong. I just found it easy to maintain it with her, she was cute and I really didn't care, I just wanted to kiss her, really. So, I tell her (after she asked me about school) that we should get coffee and she can try to convince me to donate. She was kind of on the fence, but at that exact moment the bus her group was catching arrived and they had go run to the bus stop. She left, blowing me kisses (really), looking cute as hell.
I don't really think she was into me since she could have given me her number, or maybe she was and she really just had to go because she did actually have to run to the station. I'm not exactly 6% body fat so it's understandable if she's not into me.
What made me able to ask these two girls out was straight up a change of perspective. Instead of thinking, "should I, could I, will she say yes/no, I'm not good looking enough", I thought "JUST DO IT", and I did.
Change your perspective, ladies and gentlemen, and you will change yourself and your life.
Edit: I don't donate to charities without first researching where my money is being spent.
