How to chat up the bartender?

Be the bad-ass of the bar. Fight occasionally, deal drugs, play ICP on the jukebox, that sort of thing.

As someone who has been a bartender/server (yes, I'm female) -Be a regular. We notice our regulars! -Tip well, unless it's truly not deserved. I know it probably seems obvious, but you'd be surprised. -Be more obvious than normal. I don't know about other places, but where I work, if I got caught hitting on a customer, that would be pretty bad. But if I'm just flirting back, that's entirely different. -Leave a phone number. How else am I supposed to text you and be like "yeah I thought you were cute too!"? -Be laid back. If you're the customer stressing me out demanding a mixed drink with "0.73 ounces of olive juice, no more, no less", you don't have a chance. Sounds ridiculous, but it happens.

Main advice? Be a regular (rapport is good for any date-y situation) and don't be an ass.
