You're wrong, the only way to forget about her and allow the feelings to dissipate is to move on to someone else. You are currently struggling of oneitis and the cure for that is abundance of women.

Sure it may be difficult for you to even imagine it now, but believe me when you have abundance, things like what you have described doesn't bother you one bit. Abundance doesn't come on it's own though, you need to be confident in your skills. How do you become confident in your skill? You do more approaches, you get more numbers and go out with girls doing things you find fun and interesting, not what they find interesting or fun.

I have two solutions for you that will ease the "pain":

Tell her how you feel about her. "Hey listen, I know you have a boyfriend, but before I found out, I was developing this sort of a crush for you. Normally, I would ignore people when I try to get over them, but I feel like we've also grown as friends so I wanted to let you know that way there is no weirdness."
Here she might back off herself and kind of distance herself from you, in which case win win for you or she will understand and not lead you on anymore while you deal with the "getting over her".
You mentioned you are in a university, go out and do 10 approaches a day, get a few numbers and start talking to them. Even if you end up getting rejected, you will improve your game tremendously and discover abundance which will definitely get you off this oneitis.
