Hey everyone, I went on a date with this cute girl I met through a dating app. We had texted for a few days, and my text game was fairly good. Didn't escalate though coz she seems kinda shy. But kept all the other principles like getting her to open up about her life, cracking a joke or two too keep it light, added some value to the conversation, teased her a bit, etc.

So yesterday we finally meet for some coffee, we talked for about an hour about our lives. Over here I caught myself slipping a lot:

  1. Bad posture: not sitting upright and leaning a bit on the table. correcting it when I found myself slipping.

  2. Sometimes just nodding in aggrement, coz I couldn't think of anything particularly interesting to say about it: now that I think back, I could have cracked a joke about it or disagree just for fun.

  3. Bringing the spotlight to me: I hate doing this, but it's an old habit I am slowly trying to lose. She told me something interesting and I could have built upon it and probed further. Instead I took the conversation to a similar experience I had.

So, basically, How do you implement your knowledge, on a actual daye? When I am with a cute date, thinking on my toes is not my speciality. How do you stay calm, play your game and still not be a sloth in the conversation?
