Anybody have any success doing approaches at the gym?

I'll let you know friday... I'm supposed to be taking one of the hottest girls at my gym to a brewery.

I just caught her after she filled up her water bottle. I signaled to take out her head phones. Then I asked her if she went to the same college as me because she looked familiar. This was complete BS, I knew she didn't go to my school, and she didn't look familiar.

After some small talk, I asked her to hang out some time and then got her number. After a few initial texts, she ghosted me for a week. Then she texted me a week later apologizing for not responding. She told me that she was talking to a guy, and she wouldn't feel right going on a date. She said "you were very nice and I think you're really handsome for what's it's worth"

2.5 months go by...I see her at the gym on Monday, we made eye contact and she smiled at me. We both took our headphones out and had some small talk.

I looked her dead in the eye and said "Listen, I still want to take you on a date. I remember what you told me 2 months ago" She responded with "Ok, I'm not talking to anyone anymore"

I'm playing it cool. I didn't even officially set the date up yet, I told her I would text her, but I haven't yet. I saw her again at the gym on Thursday. This time I asked her if she liked beer. She said yes. Then I asked if she liked breweries. She said yes. So I asked her if she wanted to go to a brewery with me next Friday. She also said yes.

I told her I would give her the details next week when I see her at the gym, and that I would text her later in the week if I don't happen to see her.

I am trying to avoid texting her because I think this will reduce the chances of her ghosting/flaking again.

I generally don't hit on girls at the gym, and my success rate is pretty low with the other 3-4 girls I've hit on in the last 6 months. But regardless, I likely will have a date with one of the most attractive girls at my gym

Update: after three days..she texted me back.

"Hey! I wanted to check my schedule with my boss (I just started bartending on Sunday) and she put me on the schedule for Friday and Saturday to train. Do you want to get a drink sometime next week?"

I don't like how long she took to respond, but I'm gonna have to go for it. I'll try not to be too salty

If they are close to you, looking at you, and holding eye contact. She wants to talk to you. But she can't approach you that isn't how it works. So by approaching her, or at the very least opening your mouth, you are helping her out. So do her a favor and say something, before she gives up on you.
