Just say something like "sorry I haven't texted yet I've been busy with work/school" Then just say something like "how about we get to know each other a little before our blind date so things aren't awkward" Then just ask questions like, what's your favorite genre of movies, music, hobbies, what she does for work, etc That way you can research some of her favorite things before your date & she'll appreciate that you are interested in things she's interested in If you're afraid of messing things up just keep the conversation light.
