This has happened to me a couple of times now.

I'm dancing on the floor, minding my own business, but then a woman gets in front of me, pretty close. She keeps dancing for a while, while she holds one of her hands, or both, behind her back.

Sometimes they are already very close in front of me, sometimes they are getting closer. Most of the time, there was no reason to be so close to me, as there was enough space on the dance floor.

I'd assume that any person would eventually assume that this is an invitation to dance up to them, or at least grab their hand to test the waters. But every time I do this, they just kinda look back at me, and either ignore me or move away.

Am I just socially blind? I've become pretty good at social interaction in the last few years, and I've had enough gay men and attractive women hit on me in clubs to know that I can't be that unappealing. And I've never ever seen a man dance with his hands behind his back, and most women don't do it either.

What the hell is up with this?
