There’s this episode of Sabrina where her two aunts lecture her for trying to see if things will work out with another guy before breaking up with her current boyfriend. Because, you know. It’s kind of basic.
You’re clearly not committed to whomever you’re with and have little interest in being with her if something better comes along. You only being willing to break up with her if you have something new in the works is shitty.

I feel like for you it may go a little beyond that. You state that you're trying to discover if there's any reason to leave your partner for a "better" one if she's available. Is there something about your current partner you don't like? Do you not want to make things work with her? Just curious
