Long story short: I'm a 23 year old freshmen who only just started school do to a severe mental illness that kept me socially isolated for a long ass time.

I acknowledge my social skills are terrible, and I'm taking the steps to develop them. My biggest problem is talking to women (Shocker), and I'm just wondering If this path is the correct one.

I made it my goal last week to look every single girl in the eyes that I pass. This doesn't happen all the time, sometimes I'm just having a bad day and it can't be helped; but, I notice that my first eye contact of the day usually sets the tone for the rest of the day. If I have have a good start I'm usually filled with energy for the rest of the day, vice versa if it's a bad start.

I'm being really hard on myself, so whenever my eyes dart away quickly I get pissed. I truly didn't realize how terrible my body language is, and how hard it is to work on it.... It's exhausting. However, I realize that this is the only way to develop this side of myself, and I'm ready to work on it no matter how hard it's going to be.

Does anyone have any tips other than the eye contact piece? I'm trying to take it slow and build on small success. Honestly at this point, just looking a girl in the eyes is a good day for me.
