If she likes you then taking her out for a fancy meal isn’t going to do anything... in fact it could hurt things.

If she isn’t into you then taking her out to a nice place isn’t going to make her like you. In fact she may get pissed that you are trying to guilt her into reciprocating.

Go for something cheap and fun. Don’t pay for her. Split the check.

You are dancing right on Nice Guy territory. Want to know why women hate Nice Guys? Because their actions always come with an asterisks... even if you think your actions are genuine... how are you going to feel if she doesn’t reciprocate? Shitty? Why? If she turns your down and you genuinely can say “oh, that’s cool. No problem” and move on and treat her as just a friend.... then buy all the dinner for her you want. If your intentions are genuine and not masking a roundabout way of getting her to like you or be obligated to you then you stand a chance and have not much to lose.
