Having them agree or disagree on the obvious weather isn’t going to help them know you better or help you know them better.

Ask for their name first because you would like to meet them. If they just smile and nod or don’t ask you for your just say “it was nice to meet you” and walk away.

If they ask for your name then:

Ask open ended questions about things that genuinely interest you.

Keep the conversation going and don’t be afraid to ask for number or a date early.

The better you listen the easier it will be to talk to people. This applies to non romantic relationships as well.

The reason is ... they are thinking ... “why is this guy talking to me? What does he really want?”

And you need to answer that question to put them at ease. Otherwise they may assume the worst that you are a salesman, conman, criminal, weirdo etc. and they’ll want to end the conversation.

For me personally... I never talk to men because I have no reason to. I only talk to attractive women when out and I let them know why I’m talking to them (to sleep with them)

Depends on where you are, as well as other factors.

UK vs US is completely different in my experience for example when it comes to talking to strangers
