Say you open a girl at a bar with a comment on what's going on around you or something and you begin chatting, asking her questions etc. She's answering them and maybe even asking your things although it certainly isn't flirty. She isn't giving you 'that look' that you've recognised that means you have a shot and she's attracted

At what point do you show/verbalise some intent, such as telling her you think she's pretty or whatever.

How long into the interaction typically?

And do you always wait for her to flirt with you etc first, or do you just assume attraction and make the move/tell her you think she's pretty or whatever
