Yeah it's definitely related. And it's fine dude, there are many people who go through the same things, it's perfectly normal and you will be alright. You're perfect the way you are, and you will find a way.

I can give you a coaching exercise I find useful :

First, write a letter addressed to your mom. Write everything you want to tell her. Everything she didn't do for you, what you wanted and missed from her. Take your time and really go deep.
Then you write what you would like her to answer. Write everything you would like to read, while being honest to yourself.
Then you write one last letter to your mom, telling her how you feel after reading her letter. Tell her you love her, that you are thankful to her and why.

All these letters are for yourself, you don't have to share them with her.

I'm not saying it will solve your issues, and it definitely doesn't replace therapy. But I assure you that if you really take the time and energy to do it, it will help make you feel better.
