Well befriending a woman is always a good idea, because I’ve always experienced having a woman as a wingman will get you social proof and you will get to know more women with a female friend.

As a pickup or seduction technique?

Sometimes it might work as a pre-emptive move when you think that the girl is about to friendzone you as a kind of shit test to see if you're weak or not. Or after she does it to you, you friendzone her back, like, "You can't friendzone me, I'm friendzoning YOU!"

I haven't done this a lot but the idea is, you want to her to think, "What's wrong with me, why didn't he act all needy and hurt the way other guys do when I reject them?"

For example a girl I had a crush on who I would see every week socially for about a year, actually wrote me a friendzone text out of the blue, when she was going away for Christmas holidays: "Thank you I appreciate you being a good friend." I texted something dumb and polite back like "Me too!" but possibly I should have made it more of a zinger such as: "Yes you're a really good friend." It's a long shot but a little bit more face-saving.

I'll say this though: the story above happened before I knew anything about game. Now that I worked on inner and outer game, I don't get friendzoned any more. It's not like I get laid with every woman I'm attracted to, it's just that I don't convey that kind of lame obsessiveness which leads to girls pushing me away with the "just friends" rejection. They accept me as a sexual guy and they either sleep with me, or they don't.

Works great if you are trying to create a pawn or a pivot.

If you're trying to attract though, there are lots of variations.

like my little sister.
like my bratty little sister.
we're too much alike, we should just be friends.

There's no such thing as the friendzone. She either wants to have a sexual relationship or she doesn't. If you aren't mature enough to be a woman's platonic friend then move on. She is under no no obligation to sleep with you.
