You handled the situation fine! So I was in the reverse situation with an ex of mine, she basically gave me an ultimatum between her and my friend then dumped me when I couldn't decide (bearing in mind we had been friends before I met my ex). Long story short if you're in a relationship with someone it's important to be able to trust them in these situations and unless she gives you reason to believe there is something else up try not to let it occupy your mind - However it is entirely normal human emotion to feel some jealousy, you did well not to act on it and work out things constructively :)

Worries me that she didn't tell you right away , she had two occasions to tell you, before you met them and when you had the first talk. You only had your own feeling because you sensed something going on. How was her behavior during the meeting with all the friends? In addition if she says she only see him with friends around and only on occasions, just be there. You handled it right, she didn't.
